The Fullers sit down to dinner at their home in Athens, Ohio, where they moved from there home state of Oregon to start fresh for their eight children, seven of whom are adopted.
DJ and Lyle play with their adopted son Levi, 3, before changing his diaper. When DJ and Lyle first adopted Levi at 9-days-old, there was a possibility he would have gone back to his biological father. "It was the hardest thing ever to take a baby and know you might not get to keep him," said DJ.
Lyle whispers to Levi to fall asleep as they take an afternoon nap together on their front porch. Levi was born to a mother addicted to heroin, methamphetamine, alcohol, and marijuana and as a result was declared medically fragile with failure to thrive.
Keaton, 12, sets the table before having dinner with his brothers and sisters. Having dinner with the whole family is far and few between because of everyone's different schedules.
DJ kisses Liam goodbye before catching the morning school bus outside of their home. Liam was in and out of nine foster homes before being adopted by the Fullers.

During the day, every child is always doing something different with their time. However, it's common that there are moments when everyone is together to play and relax on the weekends.

Nina reacts to her siblings arguing outside on an afternoon when their parents aren't home and Annette, their neighbor, is babysitting. "[Nina] didn’t want to share space with anybody," said DJ. "I think she was afraid to care about anybody. She had been separated from her siblings for 3 years."
